Welcome to the home of the 1st Crucis Recon! We are an online gaming community, which originally came into being playing Mechwarrior: Online.
In 2017 we expanded into a multi-gaming community, with some members playing numerous additional titles including 7 Days to Die, BattleTech, Elite: Dangerous, PUBG, Stellaris and Warframe, and many others. Many of us are also looking forward to new games coming out, and expect to spend a good deal of time playing them. In addition, we either run or participate in several fortnightly online roleplaying sessions, primarily using the Pathfinder, Starfinderand MegaMek systems. We're continually updating and restructuring our website to reflect our changing membership, so please check back regularly!
Within Mechwarrior: Online, 1st Crucis Recon is a Mercenary Unit. Although we are based within House Davion controlled space, we freely contract with most IS and Clan forces, as well as fighting in the competitive MRBC leagues. Additionally, we participate in actions by larger, allied IS forces such as the ComGuards (at Tukayyid) and the Star League Defense Force. We have a strong mix of both highly-effective veteran pilots and new blood, emphasizing camaraderie and a friendly atmosphere above all.
Come by and drop with us, then feel free to fill out a Unit Application. You'll find a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that is nevertheless competitive as we return to Community Warfare to fight for our share of mercenary C-Bills! Or, if you don't play Mechwarrior: Online, stop on by and check out our Complete Roster and see what everyone is playing.
Colonel Benjamin Davion 1st Crucis Recon, Commander-in-Chief
As well as being an Online Community, 1st Crucis Recon and its membership have held a number of real-life 'meet and greets' in recent years, with venues including St. Louis, Atlanta, Dublin (Ireland) and a small town somewhere in Kansas...!
Our most recent get-together was at DragonCon 2018, when around 10 of us met-up over the course of a long weekend (with most sharing a rental house east of Atlanta for the week). During their Con, we conducted numerous drops in the famous MechCorps simulator pods, as seen right-of-screen. Many of the MechCorps staff now have 1CR pin badges, worn as an 'allied' unit. Plans are well in hand for a potential return to the Con in 2019, while 2020 is expected to see many members visit the central US (for top secret reasons).
Various members were friends or colleagues prior to joining the unit, and we have several family groups and partnerships within our ranks. We have members ranging in age from approximately 15 to over 60, and actively encourage a wide and inclusive demographic within our Community. We hope you'll consider joining us!
